Ingredients
– 3 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
– 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Place the cubed sweet potatoes on a large baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.
3. In a large bowl, mash the roasted sweet potatoes until smooth.
4. Add the melted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to the mashed sweet potatoes. Stir until well combined.
5. Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top of the casserole.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pecans are lightly toasted and the casserole is heated through.

Notes
For a creamier texture, you can add a splash of heavy cream or milk to the sweet potato mixture. You can also swap out the pecans for walnuts or almonds if desired.
