Description

Indulge in the ultimate decadent dessert with these Shadow Dark Chocolate Lava Cakes. Featuring a rich, molten chocolate center that oozes out with every bite, this foolproof recipe is quick, easy, and guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

– 6 ounces high-quality dark chocolate, chopped

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing

– 3 large eggs

– 3 large egg yolks

– 1/3 cup granulated sugar

– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.

2. In a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Set aside and let cool slightly.

3. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until just combined. Fold in the flour until no dry pockets remain.

5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft and gooey.

6. Carefully run a knife around the edges of the ramekins and invert the cakes onto plates. Serve immediately, garnished with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality dark chocolate with a cocoa content of 70% or higher. Be careful not to overbake the cakes, as the centers should remain molten and oozing. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but the texture will not be as soft and gooey.
