Description

Tender, juicy roasted steaks are elevated with a bright, herbaceous mint gremolata topping in this easy, delicious family-style meal.

Ingredients

– 2 pounds beef sirloin steaks

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 teaspoon kosher salt

– 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

– 1 cup packed fresh mint leaves

– 2 garlic cloves, minced

– 1 tablespoon lemon zest

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season them evenly with salt and pepper.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over high heat.

4. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until a nice brown crust forms.

5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the steaks for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.

6. While the steaks are roasting, prepare the mint gremolata. In a small bowl, combine the mint leaves, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well.

7. Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.

8. Slice the steaks and top them with the mint gremolata. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality, fresh mint leaves. The gremolata can also be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
