Description

Indulge in the perfect balance of sweet and savory with these irresistible Monte Cristo Sliders. Crispy on the outside, oozing with melted cheese, and dusted with a light layer of powdered sugar, these handheld treats are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

– 12 Hawaiian or other soft sandwich rolls, split in half

– 6 slices Swiss cheese

– 6 slices deli ham

– 3 eggs, beaten

– 2 tablespoons milk

– 2 tablespoons butter

– Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

2. Place the bottom halves of the rolls on a work surface. Top each with a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of ham.

3. Close the sandwiches and dip them in the egg mixture, coating both sides.

4. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

5. Cook the sandwiches in the hot butter until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

6. Transfer the cooked sliders to a plate and dust with powdered sugar.

7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can use Gruyère or Emmental cheese instead of Swiss. Sliced turkey or chicken can also be used in place of the ham.
