Description
Discover the authentic and comforting flavors of traditional Gold Bar Daikon Radish Cake (Lo Bak Go) – a savory and delightful side dish that’s ready in just 12 minutes.
Ingredients
– 1 pound daikon radish, peeled and grated
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Grate the peeled daikon radish using a box grater or food processor.
2. In a large bowl, combine the grated daikon, flour, beaten eggs, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until a smooth batter forms.
3. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
4. Scoop about 1/4 cup of the batter and gently place it in the hot oil, flattening it into a round cake.
5. Fry the cakes for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
6. Remove the fried cakes from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
7. Serve the Gold Bar Daikon Radish Cakes warm, garnished with sliced green onions. Enjoy!
Notes
For best results, grate the daikon as finely as possible. The texture of the cakes will be smoother and more authentic. You can also experiment with different dipping sauces, such as a soy sauce-based or chili-garlic sauce.
