Description

Indulge in a comforting and flavorful Creamy Tomato Sauce Ground Beef Orzo dish – a perfect weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

– 1 pound ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1 teaspoon dried basil

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 16 ounces orzo pasta

– Grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

2. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent.

3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Pour in the can of diced tomatoes and heavy cream. Add the dried oregano and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

6. Meanwhile, cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

7. Add the cooked orzo to the creamy tomato sauce and stir to combine.

8. Serve the Creamy Tomato Sauce Ground Beef Orzo immediately, garnished with grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated. The sauce also pairs well with other types of pasta. For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
