Description

Indulge in the rich, creamy layers of this mouthwatering Christmas Eve Lasagna, a true showstopper that will elevate your holiday gathering.

Ingredients

– 12 lasagna noodles

– 1 pound ricotta cheese

– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon dried basil

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 2 jars (24 ounces each) marinara sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3. Spread 1 cup of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.

4. Arrange 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with 1 cup of the remaining marinara sauce.

5. Repeat the layer of noodles, ricotta cheese, and sauce.

6. Top with the remaining 4 lasagna noodles and the remaining marinara sauce.

7. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.

8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.

9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

10. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a twist, try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or ground Italian sausage to the ricotta cheese mixture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
