Ingredients

– 1 (4-5 pound) whole chicken

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 2 teaspoons garlic powder

– 2 teaspoons onion powder

– 1 teaspoon paprika

– 1 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in a roasting pan or on a baking sheet.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.

4. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, making sure to get it under the skin and in the cavity.

5. Truss the chicken by tying the legs together with kitchen string and tucking the wing tips under the body.

6. Roast the chicken for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
