Ingredients

– 4 (15 oz) cans of navy or kidney beans, drained and rinsed

– 1/2 cup bourbon

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

– Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large bowl, combine the drained and rinsed beans, bourbon, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well to coat the beans.

3. Transfer the bean mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.

4. Bake for 30-35 minutes, stirring halfway, until the beans are hot and the sauce has thickened.

5. Serve the Bourbon Baked Beans warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, let the beans bake for an additional 5-10 minutes. You can also add some diced onion or bacon to the bean mixture for extra flavor. These beans can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
