Celebrate the 4th of July with these delightful and dazzling 4th of July Sparkler Cupcakes! Moist, flavorful cupcakes are topped with a fun and festive sparkly topping, creating a unique and eye-catching patriotic treat.
Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup milk
– Red, white, and blue sprinkles
– 24 edible sparklers
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
4. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined after each addition.
5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Once the cupcakes are cool, top each one with a generous amount of red, white, and blue sprinkles. Carefully insert an edible sparkler into the center of each cupcake.
Notes
For a more dramatic effect, you can light the sparklers just before serving. Be sure to supervise the lit sparklers and keep them away from flammable materials. You can also experiment with different color sprinkle combinations to suit your 4th of July theme.
