Description
Crispy, flavorful Voodoo Egg Rolls packed with a savory pork and vegetable filling. These easy-to-make appetizers come together in just 30 minutes for a restaurant-quality treat.
Ingredients
– 1 pound ground pork
– 2 cups shredded cabbage
– 1 cup shredded carrots
– 4 green onions, thinly sliced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
– 24 wonton wrappers
– Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
2. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the pork mixture into the center of the wrapper.
3. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly into a cylinder.
4. Heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F. Carefully add the egg rolls, a few at a time, and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
5. Transfer the fried egg rolls to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a crispier texture, you can fry the egg rolls at a higher temperature (375°F) for 1-2 minutes per side. Be sure to monitor them closely to prevent burning. The unfried egg rolls can be assembled and frozen in advance for easy reheating and serving.
