Discover the authentic taste of Turkish Ezme, a vibrant and flavorful appetizer bursting with fresh ingredients. This quick and easy-to-make dish is perfect for sharing with family and friends, offering a delightful blend of tomatoes, onions, parsley, and a touch of spice.

Ingredients

– 3 medium tomatoes, finely chopped

– 1 small onion, finely chopped

– 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

– 1 teaspoon sumac

– 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the finely chopped tomatoes, onion, and parsley.

2. Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the vegetables, and then sprinkle with sumac, red pepper flakes, cumin, and salt.

3. Gently mix all the ingredients until well combined.

4. Let the Turkish Ezme sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

5. Serve the Turkish Ezme as an appetizer, with warm pita bread or crackers on the side.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of red pepper flakes. You can also add a small amount of minced garlic for an extra flavor boost. This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
