Description

Indulge in the heavenly combination of sweet strawberries and creamy cheese in these easy-to-make Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes. Perfect for any occasion, these delectable treats will have your taste buds dancing with joy.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2. Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough just begins to hold together.

3. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

4. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

6. Roll the chilled dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.

7. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes from the dough.

8. Place the heart-shaped dough pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each heart.

9. Top the cream cheese with a few pieces of fresh strawberry.

10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

11. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a pretty presentation, dust the Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes with powdered sugar before serving. You can also try different fruit fillings, such as blueberries or raspberries, for a variation.
