Indulge in the buttery, garlicky goodness of this classic Shrimp Scampi recipe. Tender shrimp are sautéed in a rich, flavorful sauce and served over a bed of al dente linguine for a truly mouthwatering Italian dish.
Ingredients
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 cup dry white wine
– 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
– Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
– 8 ounces linguine, cooked al dente
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
4. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has slightly thickened.
5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Serve the Shrimp Scampi immediately over the cooked linguine.
Notes
For best results, use large, high-quality shrimp. You can also add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the dish before serving for an extra bright, citrusy note.
