Description

Experience the perfect balance of flavors with this Seared Ahi Tuna With Asian Glaze recipe. Tender, seared tuna steaks are coated in a mouthwatering glaze made with soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and aromatic spices, creating a quick and healthy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

– 4 ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

– 2 tablespoons honey

– 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon sesame oil

– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

– 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

– 2 scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions

1. 1. Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

3. 3. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over high heat. When the pan is very hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the outside is nicely browned but the center is still pink.

4. 4. Reduce the heat to low and pour the Asian glaze over the tuna steaks. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, spooning the glaze over the tuna, until the glaze is thickened slightly.

5. 5. Remove the tuna from the pan and transfer to a serving plate. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and sliced scallions.

6. 6. Serve the Seared Ahi Tuna With Asian Glaze immediately, alongside steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables, if desired.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your desired level of spiciness. The tuna can also be grilled instead of pan-seared for an extra layer of flavor.
