These Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Bacon are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that’s sure to impress. Tender, caramelized cabbage is topped with crispy, smoky bacon for a flavor combination that’s simply heavenly.

Ingredients

– 1 head green cabbage, cut into 1-inch thick slices

– 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Arrange the cabbage slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

3. Roast the cabbage for 15 minutes, then flip the slices and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and lightly caramelized.

4. While the cabbage is roasting, cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

5. Remove the roasted cabbage from the oven and top with the crispy bacon pieces.

6. Serve the Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Bacon immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can sprinkle the cabbage with grated Parmesan cheese or garlic powder before roasting. The roasted cabbage steaks also make a great base for a grain bowl or salad.
