Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 onion, diced
– 2 carrots, peeled and diced
– 2 stalks celery, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp dried thyme
– 1 tsp dried rosemary
– 1 cup beef broth
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 package refrigerated pie crust (or homemade)
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. – In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
3. – Add the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.
4. – Stir in the thyme, rosemary, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. – Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the meat filling into the crust.
6. – Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Crimp the edges to seal and cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
7. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
8. – Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a flakier crust, you can brush the top with a beaten egg before baking. Leftover pie can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
