Ingredients

Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. – In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
4. – Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, mixing just until incorporated. Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
5. – Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
