Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 onion, diced
– 1 bell pepper, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
– 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
– 1 cup beef broth
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
3. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
5. Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Season with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
6. Top the mixture with the shredded cheddar cheese.
7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove the Hobo Casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
