Description

Indulge in the delectable flavors of this Herb Crusted Prime Rib Roast, a mouthwatering centerpiece for any special gathering. With a crisp, flavorful crust and a juicy, tender interior, this easy-to-make recipe is sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

– 1 (4-5 pound) prime rib roast

– 1/4 cup olive oil

– 3 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary

– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 teaspoons coarse sea salt

– 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

2. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture all over the prime rib roast, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

3. Place the roast on a wire rack set in a large, rimmed baking sheet.

4. Roast the prime rib for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 300°F (150°C) and continue roasting until the desired doneness is reached, about 2-3 hours for medium-rare.

5. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, allow the prime rib to come to room temperature before cooking. You can also use a digital meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature for your desired level of doneness. Pair this Herb Crusted Prime Rib Roast with your favorite sides, such as roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
