Ingredients
– 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 egg yolk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Orange and black food coloring (optional)
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and 2 cups sugar. Beat in the 4 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
3. – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
4. – In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar, egg yolk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth.
5. – Spread half the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Dollop the cream cheese mixture on top and gently swirl with a knife. Top with the remaining brownie batter.
6. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
7. – For Halloween, you can tint the cream cheese mixture with orange and black food coloring.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. These brownies also freeze well for up to 3 months.
