Description

Indulge in the ultimate Irish-inspired dessert with this irresistible Guinness Chocolate Cake topped with a creamy Baileys Frosting. The combination of the dark, moist chocolate cake and the smooth, boozy frosting creates a showstopping treat perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup Guinness beer

– 1/2 cup vegetable oil

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 4 cups powdered sugar

– 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream

– 1 teaspoon heavy cream

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Guinness, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla.

4. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. Allow the cake to cool completely.

7. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until well combined.

8. Mix in the Baileys Irish Cream and heavy cream until the frosting is smooth and creamy.

9. Spread the Baileys frosting over the top and sides of the cooled cake.

10. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients. The Guinness beer adds a rich, malty flavor to the cake, while the Baileys frosting provides a creamy, boozy complement. This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
