Description

Garlic Miso Chicken is a quick and easy weeknight dinner that’s packed with savory, umami-rich flavors. Tender chicken thighs are coated in a delicious garlic-miso glaze and seared to perfection, creating a caramelized crust that seals in the juices.

Ingredients

– 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons white miso paste

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon honey

– 1 teaspoon sesame oil

– 2 green onions, sliced

– Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the garlic, miso paste, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil.

2. Add the chicken thighs and toss to coat them evenly in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.

5. Slice the chicken and serve it over rice, garnished with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

This dish can also be baked in the oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes. For best results, use boneless, skinless chicken thighs, as they stay juicier than chicken breasts. The miso glaze can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to use.
