Description
Tender, flavorful Gaelic Irish Steaks are a classic Irish dish that will transport you to the Emerald Isle with every bite. Seasoned with a savory blend of herbs and seared to perfection, these steaks are a comforting and delicious dinner option.
Ingredients
– 4 thick-cut beef steaks (such as ribeye or filet mignon), about 1 pound total
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season them evenly on all sides with the salt and pepper.
2. Melt the butter in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over high heat. Once the butter is foaming, add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, or until a deep, golden-brown crust forms.
3. Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the minced garlic and thyme to the pan, and continue cooking, basting the steaks with the butter and herbs, for an additional 2-3 minutes for medium-rare doneness.
4. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Adjust the cooking time as needed to achieve your desired level of doneness. Serve the Gaelic Irish Steaks with roasted potatoes, sautéed greens, and a glass of red wine for a complete, comforting meal.
