Description

Crispy, golden-brown fried feta rolls drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili honey glaze – the ultimate restaurant-quality appetizer that’s quick and easy to make at home.

Ingredients

– 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled

– 10 sheets phyllo dough

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1/2 cup honey

– 2 teaspoons chili powder

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a medium bowl, gently mix the crumbled feta cheese.

3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean, flat surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Place a second sheet of phyllo dough on top and brush with more butter.

4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the feta mixture onto the bottom third of the phyllo dough. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold the sides in and continue rolling tightly into a cylinder.

5. Place the rolled feta roll seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining phyllo dough and feta.

6. Bake the rolls for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

7. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, chili powder, cayenne, and salt. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is warm and well-combined, about 2-3 minutes.

8. Drizzle the warm chili honey over the baked feta rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, work with one sheet of phyllo dough at a time and keep the remaining sheets covered to prevent drying. The chili honey can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
