Description

Indulge in the rich, buttery goodness of this classic French Butter Cake. With a delicate crumb and a golden-brown crust, this easy-to-make dessert is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 3 large eggs

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a more decadent touch, dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar or serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
