Description

Cowboy Cabbage is a hearty, flavorful one-pot meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights. This traditional recipe features tender shredded cabbage simmered with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and a savory sauce for a comforting and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 head of cabbage, shredded

– 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 1 cup beef broth

– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

– 1 tsp paprika

– 1 tsp dried oregano

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. 1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes.

2. 2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent.

3. 3. Stir in the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. 4. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.

5. 5. Serve the Cowboy Cabbage hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a heartier meal, serve Cowboy Cabbage with a side of crusty bread or a simple green salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
