Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 cup milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. – In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and 3/4 cup sugar until combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla.
4. – Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined, being careful not to overmix.
5. – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
6. – In a small bowl, mix together the 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
7. – Bake for 55-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a fun twist, try adding a streusel topping or a simple glaze. This bread also freezes well, wrapped tightly, for up to 3 months.
