Description

These quick and easy cinnamon rolls are a family-friendly treat that come together in just 30 minutes. Soft, fluffy dough wrapped around a sweet cinnamon filling and topped with a silky cream cheese frosting – they’re the ultimate comfort food indulgence!

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 375°F and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.

3. – Add the milk and melted butter and stir just until a soft dough forms.

4. – Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 12×8-inch rectangle.

5. – In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar. Sprinkle evenly over the dough.

6. – Starting from the short side, tightly roll up the dough. Cut into 9 equal pieces and place in the prepared baking pan.

7. – Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

8. – While the rolls bake, make the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until creamy.

9. – Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For even softer rolls, let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes before rolling and cutting. You can also make the dough a day in advance, cover and refrigerate until ready to assemble and bake.
