Description

Enjoy the classic flavors of the holiday season with this quick and easy Christmas Bread recipe. Perfectly soft, tender, and bursting with festive spices, this bread is a delightful treat for any Christmas gathering or cozy night in.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 tablespoon baking powder

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup milk

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.

2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

3. 3. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix well.

4. 4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix.

5. 5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

6. 6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. 7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a festive touch, you can dust the top of the bread with powdered sugar or drizzle it with a simple glaze. Slices of this bread also make a delicious accompaniment to soups or stews during the holiday season.
