Description

This quick and easy Chinese Beef and Broccoli recipe is a family-friendly favorite. Tender beef, fresh broccoli, and a savory sauce come together for a delicious weeknight meal.

Ingredients

– 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

– 2 cups broccoli florets

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon grated ginger

– 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

– 1 teaspoon sesame oil

– 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over high heat.

2. – Add the sliced beef and cook for 2-3 minutes, until browned on the edges but still slightly pink in the center. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.

3. – Add the broccoli florets to the hot pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, until crisp-tender.

4. – Reduce heat to medium and add the garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.

5. – In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

6. – Add the cooked beef back to the pan along with the sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.

7. – Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

8. – Serve immediately over steamed rice.

Notes

For best results, slice the beef against the grain for maximum tenderness. You can substitute other vegetables like snap peas or bell peppers if desired.
