Ingredients
– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 1 cup sour cream
– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the chicken pieces on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, sauté the onions until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute, until fragrant.
3. Sprinkle the paprika over the onion mixture and stir to combine. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, whisking to prevent any lumps.
4. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream and flour, mixing until well combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
6. Serve the Chicken Paprikash over the cooked egg noodles, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, use a combination of sweet and smoked paprika. You can also add a splash of white wine or lemon juice to the sauce for a bright, tangy finish.
