Description

Indulge in the irresistible aroma and flavor of this Cardamom Bread, complemented by a luscious Honey Orange Butter. This homemade treat is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon ground cardamom

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup warm milk

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 2 large eggs

– 1/2 cup honey

– Zest of 2 oranges

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cardamom, and salt.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.

3. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs to the flour mixture. Knead until a soft, smooth dough forms.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.

6. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

8. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.

9. In a small bowl, mix the honey and orange zest to make the Honey Orange Butter.

10. Serve the warm Cardamom Bread with the Honey Orange Butter on the side.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, you can toast the cardamom seeds before grinding them. Store any leftover bread in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
