Ingredients
– 2 cups white granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup light corn syrup
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 teaspoon red food coloring
– 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved.
2. Continue to cook the mixture, without stirring, until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully stir in the red food coloring, peppermint extract, and ground cinnamon. Mix well until the color and flavors are evenly distributed.
4. Pour the hot candy mixture onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread the mixture into an even layer.
5. Allow the candy to cool completely, then break or cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
6. Store the Candy Cane Fireball Hard Candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
For a more pronounced cinnamon flavor, increase the amount of ground cinnamon to 1 teaspoon. You can also experiment with different food coloring shades to create unique candy patterns.
