Ingredients
– 2 cups stone-ground grits

– 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

3. Remove the grits from the heat and stir in the butter, 1 cup of the Gouda cheese, the eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of Gouda cheese.
5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Let the Baked Gouda Cheese Grits cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra richness, you can substitute heavy cream for some of the milk. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as cheddar or parmesan, to suit your taste preferences.
