Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of this homemade Apple Whiskey Bacon Jam. This quick and easy recipe combines the sweetness of apples, the richness of whiskey, and the savory smokiness of bacon for a truly divine spread or condiment.

Ingredients

– 8 slices bacon, diced

– 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

– 2 tablespoons whiskey

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. 1. In a skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease in the skillet.

2. 2. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, whiskey, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease. Stir to combine.

3. 3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are softened and the mixture has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.

4. 4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the cooked bacon. Let the jam cool slightly before transferring to a jar or airtight container.

5. 5. Refrigerate the apple whiskey bacon jam for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

– The jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

– Try using different varieties of apples for a unique flavor profile.

– Serve the jam as a spread on toast, crackers, or biscuits, or use it as a topping for grilled meats, cheese boards, or even ice cream.
